Pronounced as (IPA)
/ˈɦɛldər/
Etymology

From earlier heller, derived from or related to hel (“bright”), though the origin of the suffix -er is unknown. The -d- is commonly inserted after an intervocalic l, r and n in Dutch; compare for example daalder, kelder, diender and vaarder. The comparative helderder thus demonstrates this effect twice in a single word.
