Étymologie (Anglais)

In summary

From Latin iuvenis. First attested in 1251. Coromines calls it 'semi-learned' on account of the preservation of /e/, the expected development being *jovene > *jovne > *jone; also because it was quite rare until the seventeenth century, the general term until then having been mozo.
