From Ottoman Turkish دها (daha), from Old Anatolian Turkish داخى (daχï), from Proto-Turkic *t(i)akï (“additionally, plus; again, once more”). Doublet of dahi. Cognate with Azerbaijani daha, Kazakh тағы (tağy), Kyrgyz дагы (dagı), Uzbek tag‘in.
