Etymology
From earlier *quruɣluɣ, from Proto-Turkic *kur-ug-lug (“having the properties of erecting”), from *kur-ug (“erecting, erected thing”), from *kur- (“to erect”). By surface analysis, kur- + -u (deverbal nominal suffix) + -lu. From the same root see also Proto-Turkic *kur-ug-luk (“container for something erected”), Karakhanid قُرُغْلُقْ (quruɣluq, “quiver, bow-case”).
