Cognate with Old Uyghur qʾnʾmʾq (qanamaq, “to bleed”), Karakhanid قَناماقْ (qanāmāq, “to bleed”), Turkmen gānamak (“to bleed”) and Mongolian ханах (xanax, “to bleed”); a Turkic borrowing.
