Etymology
Inherited from Old Spanish de nuevo (“again”), from Latin dē (“from”) + novō (“new”), possibly a restructured inherited form of Classical Latin dēnuō (“again, anew”), itself a reduced form of a supposed and unattested Old Latin *dē novōd. Related to Medieval Latin dē novō (“afresh, as a new thing, out of nowhere”). Compare French de nouveau, Italian di nuovo, di novo.
