Meaning

  1. To store; to put by.
  2. To disable or incapacitate; to confine to bed.
  3. To take out of active service.
  4. To go out of active service.
  5. To make a layup with (a basketball)
  6. To deliberately leave the ball further than necessary from the hole, so as to secure an easier succeeding shot.
