Gurmukhi
An abugida script, or writing system, designed for writing the Punjabi language used primarily in Punjab, India
Etymology
Borrowed from Punjabi ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ (gurmukhī) / گُرْمُکھی (gurmukhī), commonly translated as "from the Mouth of the Guru", since it was standardised by Guru Angad in the 16th century.
