فلافل

falafel (a dish made of ground broad beans, and/or chickpeas mixed with various herbs and optionally garlic and deep-fat fried as croquettes)
Etymology
Broken plural of فِلْفِل (filfil); which in turn, was borrowed from Classical Persian پلپل (pilpil), from Sanskrit पिप्पलि (pippali, “long pepper”).
