Etimologija (Anglų k.)

From the verb kontern, from English to counter (originally in the context of boxing). The noun is probably not derived directly from the verb but as a clipping of the noun Konterschlag (“counterstrike, backlash”), from kontern + Schlag. Compare also the prefix konter-, from French contre, which influenced the phonetic form of these words.
