Prononcé comme (IPA)
/buɾˈmak/
Étymologie (Anglais)

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish بورمق (burmaḳ, “to twist or screw, to wring, to strangle, to castrate, for the bowels to gripe”), from Proto-Turkic *bür- or *bur- (“to twist, to wring”). Possibly evolved from the form Proto-Turkic *bügür-, which was derived from Proto-Turkic *bük- (“intransitive; to be squeezed, to be strangled”).
