Etimoloji (İngilizce)
In summary
From Middle Dutch keper (“rafter, roof beam”), from Vulgar Latin *capriōne, *capreus, from Latin caper (“male goat”). The connection with goats is thought to be the resemblance of two diagonal wooden beams of a roof meeting in the middle with two prancing goats. Cognate with Middle High German kepfer, French chevron.
