Orange (a town in Vaucluse department, in southern France)
From Old French Orenge, from Vulgar Latin *Aurinica, from Latin Arausiō, from Gaulish *arausi (“temple (head), cheek”) (compare Old Irish arae (“temple (of the head)”)). Compare also the Occitan name of the town, Aurenja.
