Etimologija
Inherited from Proto-Slavic *naležati, with a semantic shift of to lie on top of → to be a part of, and other semantic shifts stemming from that. By surface analysis, na- + leżeć. Compare Kashubian nôleżec, Masurian nalezécz, and Silesian nŏleżeć. Further compare Czech náležet and Ukrainian нале́жати (naléžaty). First attested in the first half of the 16th century.
