Any of several species of Californian sciaenoid food fishes, especially Roncador stearnsi (spotfin croaker) and others in the Sciaenidae family.
Etimologia (Inglese)
From Spanish roncador (“a snorer”), from roncar (“to snore”). So called in allusion to the grunting noise made by them on being taken from the water.
