Scotch tape

Senso (Inglese)

Transparent or translucent pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, used for sealing items together, especially paper.

Etimologia (Inglese)

Genericized trademark from Scotch Tape. Reportedly a reference to the stereotypical tendency of the Scottish towards thrift, due to cutting of corners with the product initially produced. Compare Dutch oven for similar sense of origin.
