Etimologia (Inglese)

From Aramaic פּלג (plag, “phalanx, military unit; attendant or bodyguard especially of the Persian king”), from Ancient Greek φᾰ́λᾰγξ (phắlănx) – in which case a doublet of فَلَقَة (falaqa) – or from Aramaic פּלוגּה (pluggā, “group, division”), derived from Proto-Semitic *palag- (“to split, to divide, to cleave, to partition”); see פלג and φῠ́λᾰξ (phŭ́lăx).
