Etimología (Inglés)
Inherited from Middle French poche, from Old French puche, poche (“purse, small bag”), from Frankish *pokkō, *pokō (“pouch, bag”), from Proto-Germanic *pukô (“bag, pouch”), from Proto-Indo-European *buk-, *bu-, *bew- (“to blow, swell”). Reinforced by Old Norse puki, poki (“bag, pocket”), via Old Northern French. Cognate with Middle Dutch poke, Alemannic German Pfoch (“purse, bag”), Old English pohha, pocca (“poke, pouch, pocket, bag”), and English pocket; compare also pouch.
