From Late Latin conredum, from cum (“with”) + redum (“preparation, arrangement”), which is of Germanic origin; see also Dutch reden, Gothic *𐍂𐌴𐌳𐌰𐌽 (*rēdan), 𐍂𐌰𐌹𐌳𐌾𐌰𐌽 (raidjan). Alternatively back-formation of corredare, compare arredare (“to equip”).
